Course Descriptions and a Sample Syllabus

For The Colorado Free Bible College

General Course Description And Philosophy

Hermeneutics, the Art and Science of interpreting the Word of God, will be taught as required for each student.

Greek and Hebrew study can be taken concurrently with Hermeneutics.  The Online Bible will be used by the student for the location of important texts for paper writing.  When learning new material, each person has his/her own uptake rate.  Grades will be assigned unless the student wishes to take the course(s) for non-credit (audit).  To successfully complete this course doesn’t necessarily take a keen mind, but it does take applied diligence over each of the 12+ week periods.  When the Hermeneutics class is completed, the student having at least 4 semesters of Greek, will be allowed to embark on a study of Homiletics (Preaching/teaching – 2 semesters).  The course in Systematic Theology by an inductive method will be taught along with all courses.  When the student completes the course in Greek, after 4, twelve week semesters (two years)  he/she may progress into a one semester course in New Testament Textual Criticism.  The course in Creation Science will provide a survey of the reasons for belief in Biblical Creation.  A three semester course in Apologetics (defense of the faith) has been added, as an elective, but required for graduation. Finally, We offer a 4 semester (48 weeks) course on the entire English Bible which may be taken independently of the Biblical Language courses. Hermeneutics must also be taken either prior to, or in conjunction with the first course in English Bible. The syllabus for each semester will be delivered to the students at the start of each term (a sample for term 1 is shown in Table 1 (click to open pop-up.)
